Professional Journey
Richard Coulson, the CEO and lead designer of AIThoughtLab, brings a wealth of experience as a true jack-of-all-trades. Starting his career working for the school board maintaining PCs at his high school, he moved into a systems support role with a financial company, where he eventually trained all new hires on the company’s loan system. Later, Richard started, ran, and successfully sold a swimming pool service company. Running his own business required him to learn everything—from pool service and web design to business management, taxes, and local laws—making him well-versed in the challenges of entrepreneurship. He then found his way into the world of CAD and automation at a furniture company, where he implemented cost-saving measures that saved the company over $100,000 annually.
Passion for AI and Vision for the Future
Driven by a lifelong passion for computers that began when he was six years old, Richard has always been fascinated by the technical and empathetic potential of AI. He believes in AI’s ability to provide logical, unbiased answers, offering clarity where human emotions might muddle decisions. Family-oriented at heart, Richard’s dedication to AIThoughtLab is fueled by his vision to make information more accessible, streamline learning, and help solve the growing issue of social isolation. He aims to create truly relatable AI, fostering real interactions and connections to help people navigate the complexities of modern life with ease.
